How to make bookmark for grandmother from baby?

I would really like to do something special for my mom from my one year old for Christmas. I have an idea of somehow doing a bookmark with my baby‘s footprints or hand prints on it since she loves to read.

What kind of paper should I use to do this? My daughter is 1 year old.. she will not hold still so I’m going to have to do ink on her hands or something instead of tracing her hands.

Is there a certain kind of paper I can use that would be better for a bookmark? It needs to be stiff enough to survive a while. Otherwise, should I laminate it? But I don’t want it to look cheap.. I want it to be really nice…

Then does anyone have any suggestions on what to write on it?
This is a present from my baby girl to my mom.
Is there a store that will laminate it for me if I choose to go that route? How much does it cost?

I enjoy creating crocheted items like baby hats, headbands. I also make grown up -adult items like hats, scarves, wrist bands in decorative stitches and different yarns, sometimes mohair. I also like to make bookmarks by both crochet and card-stock. It is difficult to figure if I can manage some funds to invest in this as a beginner in small business. Books, books, and more reading? Are people reading more with real books and using bookmarks? If not would you in the near future?

My bookmarks and crochet are all my own original patterns and drawings. I pen and ink the designs and then ink them in where I think color looks beautiful. Your comments are welcome.
