I am opening a baby store – custom made clothing, slings and carriers, babies picture on a t-shirt, baby portrait drawings, books and magazines, babyshower party supplies and giftbaskets etc.
I need some help with the store name. Some ideas Ive had are:
My Little Angel
Little Miracles
The Baby Stop
Gifts From Heaven
Oh Baby!

Which do you like best, or if you have any suggestions!

Kids Kloset or The baby shop

David asks…

I need a name for a crochet business. Something that is catchy and that people will remember?

I will be selling items such as baby blankets, hats, book-bags, throw blankets, and custom made items. Any ideas and thoughts are much appreciated! Thank you!

Networking and brainstorming with a focus group (us) is an excellent idea for generating a huge number of ideas. I hope you find one that works for you.

Remember that people have a legal right to know with whom they are doing business, so using your own name in the business name is a good idea. If you lived in my state, you would have to register any business name that does not include your full name at the courthouse and pay a fee to do so. You probably need to check with your own state’s licensing and taxing regulations to be sure that you’re following local laws.

On to name suggestions:

Go for alliterative names such as “Crochet by Kelly” or “Hannah Hooks!” or “Stitches by Stella” or “Loopy Lou/Leeann/Lettie/etc.”

Consider fanciful names such as “Se Habla Stitches” or “Je T’aime Crochet.”

Think of historical or identifiable landmarks nearby that are in the public domain that you could borrow for a logo. For example, you could use the Hatteras lighthouse and a crochet hook and name the business “Hooked on Hatteras” (even if you’re only nearby, not ON Hatteras) or the Cape Lookout lighthouse and the name “Cape Crochet” or “Cape Creations” or “Ocean Originals” or “Crabby Crochet” or . . . You get the drift.

Think of colorful names that are used in your area (also public domain required to avoid lawsuits) that you could borrow: I’ve always thought that “Wheat Swamp Stitches” would be a nifty name or “Core Sound Crochet Creations” or “Snow Hill Stitches” or “Cherry Branch Cheeries” or “Cedar Island Creations” or “Bogue Banks Booty.”

And last but not least, work in the crochet connection (how about “Crochet Connection”?). There’s “Treble Treble” or “Linking Loops” or “Back Stitch Boogie” or “All Three Loops” or . . . Again, you get the drift.
